Sales Associate

DPI Specialty Foods, the Northwest's Leading Specialty Foods Distributor, currently seeks a Full-Time Sales Associate to service multiple grocery stores in the greater surrounding areas of Tacoma. The Sales Associate is responsible for ordering and merchandising specialty dry food products to retail grocery chains.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in retail food operations.
• Working knowledge of the grocery business.
• Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional and flexible manner.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Basic mathematic skills.
• Valid state driver's license.

• Ordering and stocking of merchandise to store shelves. Maintain store shelves to standards of DPI Specialty Foods and customer.
• Check shelves and backrooms for overstock, proper product rotation, and dates.
• Maintain regular contact with existing customers to field problems, concerns, and complaints resolving customer-related issues.
• Inform customers of promotional products, price trends, and assist in inventory control.
• Make company services and products available to customers.
• Meet or exceed established sales objectives as assigned.
• Communicate information received at store-level regarding mis-picks, mis-selects, unauthorized items, manufacturer defects, product rotation to Customer Service, brokers, and area manager.
• Keep records and make reports on all phases of activities as required.
• Attend all required sales meetings and seminars.
• Delivery & pick-up of products and equipment when necessary.
• Keep informed of new products and other general information.
• Other duties may be assigned.
